Our kindergarten students worked all through February and March on their literature inspired musical production. They sang, danced, acted, played instruments, and learned about the joys of putting it all together in musical theater.
Thursday, April 11, 2024 they got to show what they learned in their first musical performance as WB students, "I Love Books".
On Thursday, December 14th, 2023 our 2nd grade students wowed the crowd with an amazing performance of holiday season songs. A violin soloist, 3 solo vocalists singing in second languages (Hebrew, Spanish and Japanese), dancers, soloists, readers and even student vocal and language coaches all worked together to make the performance stellar.
Veteran's Day - Nov 11th.
On Thursday, November 9th, 2023 our 3rd grade students performed patriotic songs in honor of those who put themselves in harms way to protect our freedom.

On Thursday, February 29th, 2024 our 4th grade students took a field trip to the National Museum of African American Music. They experienced the joyful expressions that became a global phenomenon.
Then they returned to Waverly Belmont and performed for their peers in a dress rehearsal. This recording of the evening performance shows how much time, effort and passion our students put into celebrating Black History Month through music.
Congratulations to our 5th Grade Students for completing their journey at Waverly Belmont ES. On Tuesday, May 21st they celebrated their achievements and performed a farewell music program based on the Dr. Suess book, "Oh The Places You'll Go!"
Hispanic Heritage Month: Sept 15 - Oct 15th
In music classes, we learned about the cultural expression of Spanish speaking countries around the world. We explored dances from Mexico and rhythms from Cuba and Colombia. Thursday, October 5th, Waverly Belmont students had a flash mob on the historic steps of the school. We danced to "Join the Celebración!"
On December 13th, Zildjian sponsored recording artist, drummer Marcus Finnie came to our school to do a drum clinic and motivational music talk for our 4th grade students.

He shared with our students how to develop into a class A musician, and the industry doors that open when you truly develop your skills. He also walked the students through some drum patterns that everyone played together.
