11:25 - 12:25 2nd grade - Marsh (take them to recess at 12:15. Their teacher will meet you on the playground and take over)

1:15 - 2:15 K/1st (take them to recess at 2:00 and take them back to their classes at 2:15)

1. Entrance Song

Objectives: Today we will
- - - Dance / Play Boomwhackers / Brick by Brick (Studio Version) / Analyze a Clip

3a. Boomwhackers - Warm Up | Descending

Have all students 2nd - 5th grade get two (2) boomwhackers,

one from the longer sets (long red, orange, yellow, light green), and
one from the shorter sets (dark green, purple, pink, and short red)

Tell them to strike the boomwhackers only on the carpet - and to be gentle.

3b. Boomwhackers - Waka Waka

Tell students with light green to put their boomwhackers back and get a drum (a tubano drum from along the wall). They must stand in the back so the students who still have boomwhackers can see.

3b - Analyze a Song

Listen and watch the video. Let each color group take a category and discuss it.

Student on dark green: What instruments did you hear featured in the song?
Students on orange: How would you describe the tempo and energy of the song?
Students on light green: Describe how the singers used their voices. Talking/rapping, humming, crooning, belting, screaming, sound fx, etc.
Students on red: Describe the set - consider the colors, structures and designs
Students on purple: How would you describe the movement during the song?
Students on blue: Consider the theme of the song. Did the music match the topic? Why or why not?
